Bavarian coziness

At the foot of the Geigelstein, in the upper Achental valley, you will find our Landgasthof Zur Post, in the idyllic mountaineering village of Schleching. Here you can enjoy the unspoiled nature of the Chiemgau Alps and feel at home in picturesque natural surroundings. We offer 29 double rooms, all spacious and in country house style, with private parking. All our rooms are double rooms, some with mountain view, whereby 15 of the comfort rooms can be used as 3-bed rooms. Our house consists of 3 floors, whereby the third floor is only accessible via stairs. Dogs are welcome in certain comfort rooms, with prior notice and for a fee of €15 per night. Children’s discounts are available on request and baby cribs and parking spaces are available free of charge. Your room is available from 3 pm on the day of arrival and until 10 am on the day of departure.

Classic room

We have a total of three rooms in the classic category, with a size of approx. 20m². All rooms have a hairdryer, flat-screen TV, telephone and free WLAN.

Our classic rooms offer an idyllic retreat at the foot of the Geigelstein in the upper Achental valley, where you can discover the untouched nature of the region and feel at home in picturesque surroundings.

Comfort room

We have a total of 23 rooms in the comfort category with a size of approx. 24m². 15 rooms in the comfort category can also be used as 3-bed rooms. These rooms have a single sofa bed and some have a balcony. All rooms have a hairdryer, flat-screen TV, telephone and free WLAN.

Deluxe room

We have a total of two rooms in the Deluxe category. The rooms have a size of approx. 30m², a separate sitting area with double sofa bed and a balcony. All rooms have a hairdryer, flat-screen TV, telephone and free WLAN.

THE HISTORY

Landgasthof Zur Post

The property, located on the Salzstrasse from Berchtesgaden to Augsburg, with the former farm name “Bäck”, has existed for more than 550 years. In 1460, the property first appeared in documents as “Hof zu Westerndorf”. It has always been a stately farm, as well as a bakery and inn, and at times a mill was also attached. In the last century, the “Bäck” gradually changed to a pure “guest economy”. The first evidence of this can be found in brewery invoices from 1576…
